Who We Are & What We Do
Back the Blue 901 is a nonprofit and nonpolitical organization on a mission to support the Memphis Police Department through morale-boosting efforts. But why do we do it?
We want to support those who support our city. Pouring energy, time, and care into our Memphis Police Department officers allows us to give back to them for the time they spend pouring energy, time, and care into our communities.
Our Efforts Have:
Established the “We’ll Have a Blue Christmas” annual endeavor · Fed all 9 Memphis precincts with breakfast at Christmas · Delivered donuts to all 9 Memphis precincts on Valentine’s Day · Lit the Memphis Bridge blue · Provided gift cards to a fallen officer’s family · Gathered hundreds of cards from school children thanking officers · Replaced kitchen items and furniture at a precinct · Secured cheer and football uniforms for the youth program at one precinct · Raised enough money to run 5 billboards for 4 months · Delivered 2,200 stainless steel cups to our officers and new recruits during National Police Week
